Taking thyronorm 50 mcg since six months. Current tsh-9.29, free t4 1.35. Is this ok as free t4 is within limits or need to see doctor for elevated tsh symptoms: heel pain, sleepy feeling, elevated diastolic bp (125/105).

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given, TSH level at 9.29 mU/L is suggesting that presennt Levothyroxine dosage is not adequate. Ideally TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L when all the symptoms are in check. Another important aspect is looking at your height and weight with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 28.43 kgs/Sq meter, yu are clearly over weight and going towards grade 1 obesity. There is an excess of over 15 to 16 kgs , This shows that hypothyroidism is not in check. As rehards the BP diastolic 105 mm Hg is quite high. You probably need a drug to reduce BP. Thanks.
