Report
Suffering from hyperprolactinaemia which was diagnosed last year - adenoma on the pituitary gland, 3 mm. Was following a course for a weekly dose of cabergoline 0.25 for the past year. Got an mri done recently, and according to the report the scans are completely normal now. Wondering if it is possible for this to get normal so soon? If yes, is any other medication needed further or steps to be taken further? Can share scans as well, if needed.

Hello. Even with a normal mri and prolactin report it is usually recommended to continue cabergoline for at 2 years in case of pituitary microadenoma.

If the prolactin level is less than 25 ng/ml, you can stop cabergoline. If there is no milk secretion, you are safe, as mri scan is also normal.
