Hello Dr. In feb 2020 I got hyperthyroid, after Dr. Prescribed I started taking carbimazole, after 3 months approx my hypothyroid changed to hypothyroid and is in that situation now. I am taking levothyroxine 100 mg daily. Age 31, male, haryana, 6 ft height, weight 92 kg, bp is normal with meds, weight is under control with meds. Pls guide me, I want cure not management.

Please understand the condition Hypothyroidism is because your thyrooid gland is unable to produce enough Thyroxine (T4), Hence there is a need to take regular supplementation. This can not be cured. It can only be controlled with regular adequate intake of Levothyroxine. I hope you understand that. THERE IS NO CURE FOR THIS.

Dear lybrate-user, from the fact that you quickly became hypothyroid after carbimazole it looks like the underlying problem may be an autoimmune thyroiditis or subacute thyroiditis .please check tpo antibodies and inform results
