I am ankylosing spondylitis patients. My both hips have been replaced & now there is a pain in my spine. Due to this my posture has become worst. Currently, my crp & esr levels are 37 & 50 respectively. My Dr. Advised me to take jaknat 5 mg, myospas both time & inmecin 25 thrice a day & omnacortil 5 mg 1 time & tayo 60k weekly. I used to do some exercises also. Still I cannot feel any relief from these medicines. My financial condition is too worst. Due to pain I cannot do any work. Please advise what should I do?

I am sure you know about the nature of your disease, which first involves spine and then large joints also. Drug management has its own limitation in terms of long term need and side effects. Exercises on a regular way in terms of mobilization of joints or muscle strengthening of the part has pain relieving action. Steroid should be best avoided. Indomethacin is the main drug you may need to take for long period. The disease has to be accepted as part of life and further planning made accordingly.

As per your description, you might get relief with biologics, however that is a costly treatment. In that case you can go to govt hospitals and ask for help from charitable trusts or pm funds or cm funds.
