I am 46 years old and 20 days back (6/05/21) I got to know I have fibroid which is about 2 mm (2722 mm) with endometrium grossly thicken to 21 mm. I was suggested to take regestrone for 21 days, with 3 tablets a day for the first week and 2 tables for the next week continued with 1 table for the last week. I skipped for two days in the first week and later on continued with the course and took 2 tablets for 8 days, but my course didn't get completed and I got my periods on 23-05-21. Is this due to regestrone or is my fibroid effecting?

You must have got break through bleeding as you missed your regesterone tablets in between. You need not worry about the fibroid as it is small i. Size. But your endometrium lining is quite thickened, you should undergo endometrial biopsy ,and further treatment should be done according to biopsy report.

Hello the fibroids by itself is absolutely nothing to worry about. It is very small and most women have a small fibroid in the uterus. But the thick endometrium is definitely something to work on. At your age of 46, a thick endometrium must be biopsied to rule out endometrial cancer or pre cancerous conditions. Please talk to your gynecologist about getting a biopsy at the earliest. The irregular bleeding could be due to irregular regesterone, or due to abnormal endometrial lining.

The fibroid is too small in size to cause such symptoms. Such gross endometrium at your age is concerning. You require an endometrial biopsy as and when the situation improves. Taking regesterone irregularly causes bleeding with thick endometrium as has happened in your case. Until you are able to get your biopsy start the same course from d5 of your period and then repeat the cycle for 3-6 months.
