Hello doctor, I got a scar ectopic pregnancy. I underwent with procedure with methotrexate injection two doses. The beta hcg level came to zero. But still the sac is on the scar. How much it takes to dissolve the sac. I did procedure on september 3rd and second dose of methotrexate on september 13. Beta hcg randomly and slowly decreased to zero now. But after procedure to until now the sac remains the same on the scar but no growth on sac. Will the sac dissolves automatically or it can come out along with monthly periods. Please tell.

Hi the purpose of methotrexate is to stop the growth of the pregnancy and thereby prevent rupture and other complications. The pregnancy has stopped growing, so hcg is back to normal. The sac will be slowly absorbed by the body, and will take time. Maybe even 3 months. Have you started getting periods after the injections? If so, how was the flow?
