My mom is 156 cms height and is 120 kgs in weight. She is 70 years old and is diabetic and has high blood pressure. Recently due to low bone density and overweight her hip bone near acetabulum got cracked but did not move out of position. The doctor has advised complete bed rest and said that the bone will heal by itself as it was too risky to perform surgery. She has been given zoledronic acid 4 mg injection some 10, 12 days back to improve bone density. It's been 2 weeks that she she has been in total bed rest and she can turn one side for now. Is it advisable to try and make her sit when having food or is it too soon? Please advise. Since the doctor said that the fracture has to heal itself we have admitted to a small nursing care center where she gets full time nursing care but no treatment is been given there. Scan report: undisplaced incomplete cubcapital crack in left side neck of femur linear indisplaced incomplete fracture in anterior colum of acetabulum in right side diffuse mild osteopenia of entire pelvis bone.
