Respected sir as per doctors advise I am on eltroxin 50 mcg for one month for hypothyroidism and the tsh level is 4.7 now. But I am occasionally facing diarrhoea and vomiting. Is it due to eltroxin. I am extremely worried. Shall I stop the eltroxin. Pls advise.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. Please let me know when the treatment with levothyroxine was initiated what were the t3, t4 & tsh levels? At your age (if 69 years is correct) tsh can be allowed to go up to 6 mu/l. Because so please let me know the above information. Currently your tsh is with in the normal range. But stopping the tablet can lead to an increase of tsh. Usually thyroxine tablets do not cause any major side effects. So please come back with all the details. Then I will be able to clarify. Thanks.
