Dear madam I understand that your mother has the complaint of: burning in lower limb and the imaging finding is: neurofibroma at d7 level of spine -ooo- neurofibroma, as the name implies is a tumor of the nerve finer. In few patients, there is only one neurofibroma, but is most patients, there are multiple neurofibromas for the neurofibroma to be visible in the mri, it should grow considerably bigger. If it is a small tumour, not much enlarged, but nevertheless compressing the nerve root, it will produce symptoms, but it won't be visible -ooo- now your question is" can neurofibroma of dorsal spine cause pain in lower limb because for pain" my reply I would offer two reasons for the pain in lower limb 1. There is a neurofibroma in one of the roots supplying lower limb, which is compressing on the nerve fibres, but is yet to become big as to be visible on the mri 2. The lower limb pain is due to some other cause of peripheral neuropathy e. G. Diabetic neuropathy -ooo- in any case, the treatment would be the same - treatment of neuropathic pain + in case of diabetes, please control diabetes in case of nf, please repeat the mri after 6 months: preferably a high tesla mri with specific instructions to look for all nerve roots in case of any doubt, please feel free to get back to me.
