Further analysis is required to reach to the diagnosis. To rule out the jaw pain- a complete dental check-up is important. This dental check-up will be different from a general dental checkup which includes 1. Soft tissue evaluation 2. Checking jaw joint- @ pre auricular palpitation, @ lateral auditory meatus palpitation @ hearing the click sounds @checking for early contacts @ checking for functional and nonfunctional contacts .and much more. For all this, you need to visit the dentist. Or dentist who is a tmj expert or oral maxillofacial surgeon. In general, solutions could be 1. Getting a night guard 2. Splints 3. Deprogrammer 4. Balancing the occlusion and much more also, you can take a muscle relaxant and one antiinflammatory for the time being.
