I have been prescribed zonalta and inspiral sr 20 mg by my psychiatrist for treating bipolar disorder and adhd, and told that medication must take for at least 2 to 3 years. Is it really necessary to take those medicines for such longer period? Is there a way to reduce duration of medicine intake.

For adhd, you can take non pharmacological management, but for bipolar you will probably have to take. Also depending on individual case especially with severe adhd you will have take medication.
