Hello, doctor my sister is suffering from hyperthyroidism, for many years she has t3 = 709 ng/dl, t4 = 30.04 ug/dl, tsh = 0.011 and she is currently in medication of neo-mercazole 5 but recently in since 4 months she has been hearing voices, weird flashes and auditory hallucination constantly is it due to thyroid what should we do?

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. She has very severe hyperthyroidism. The complaints mentioned are unlikely to be due to hyperthyroidism. Secondly the dosage of tablet neo-mercazole seems quite inadequate. There's a need to increase. Tsh should come up to 2 -3 mu/l and t4 as well as t3 levels have to come down rapidly. So please talk to your physician and get it sorted. Thanks.
