I am suffering from anxiety. Doctor give me tatracylic antidepressant tablet 50 mg morning and 50 mg evening. I am also have ibs .Doctor it is also related to anxiety. If I eat chicken it cause gas and acidity. please answer me.

Dear Ravi, I hope you mean tetracyclic antidepressant. The only tetracyclic antidepressant in Indian market is not available now. It may be a tricyclic antidepressant. However, please write the chemical name of the drug. Antidepressants are used both in anxiety and in IBS. Both anxiety and IBS can co occur in the same person and both need treatment simultaneously. Gas and acidity may be due to IBS. Mostly milk (lactose), coffee, chocolates cause problems in IBS. If chicken causes gas and acidity, try avoiding it and see whether you feel better.

Yes. Anxiety is very much related to IBS and has a bi-directional relationship. What is the name of the medicine. IBS with Anxiety has to be treated by a gastro in liasion with a psychiatrist. All the best.
