My father gave me history of chest pain on exertion. He is 55 years old non smoker non hypertensive with no diabetes. But he is obese. Recently he got his lipid profile test in june and levels are very high. Cholesterol was 395 mg/dl triglycerides was 1820 and VLDL was 464 and blood sugar was 104. All these values were in fasting state. Then after taking some treatment lipid profile was repeated again on 27/07/18 and values were cholesterol 253 triglycerides 829 and VLDL 165, these were also in fasting state. Then rosuvas-F 20/160 taken for one and half month. And after stopping medication 2 weeks later lipid profile was done on 22/09/18. And values were still very high cholesterol 293 triglycerides 1292 and VLDL was 258 done in Dr. lal path lab in fasting state. And now doctor prescribed lipaglyn 4 mg and ecosprin av for next 1-2 months. But I read about lipaglyn that it is for diabetics dyslipidemia. But my father is not diabetic. Is it safe to take this drug and gave me further advise on this case.
