I often suffer from knee dislocation while playing any physical sport. The knee usually pops out with a jerk and just go to its place at the same time. I can feel the moment inside and usually loose my balance when this occurs. Its been 4 times in three years. X-ray reports are normal. What can be its reason and how to cure it?

Recurrent dislocation of knee patellar dislocation occurs when the knee cap slides out of the trochlea. When dislocation of the patella occurs on more than one occasion, it is referred to as recurrent patellar dislocation. The risk of further dislocation increases to almost 70% to 80% after two episodes of dislocation. To help reduce your chance of patellar dislocation, keep quadriceps and hamstring muscles strong with strengthening and stretching exercises. Early treatment to help prevent re-injury more important, there's a 44 percent risk that you'll dislocate your knee a second time. After a second dislocation, there's a 50 percent chance of a third dislocation. After every dislocation, it becomes easier and easier for the kneecap to dislocate.
