I am planning for liposuction surgery for my saddlebag area. I have heard from a few of my patients that the process is safe and painless. But I fear is it safe to have liposuction surgery and what are the risks involved?

Liposuction is considered as a major surgery and there are few risks involved such as bleeding and reaction to anesthesia. Few possible complications include - 1) it may happen that your skin appears bumpy and wavy due to removal of excess fat and unusual sudden healing. 2) it is possible that seromas or temporary pockets of fluid may gather under the skin. It needs to be drained with the help of a needle. 3) temporary numb feeling in the affected area. 4) skin infection is one of the major risks and it could be life threatning in some cases. 5) fluid levels change after being injected and suctioned and can cause chronic kidney, heart and lung ailments.
