Dear Sir/ Madam I am a 46 year old unmarried guy with following issues. Anxiety (obsessive compulsive disorder), social anxiety Inferiority complex, very poor memory and concentration, lack of self confidence. I had suicidal tendency in my past. I would like you to help me out. I would prefer homeopathic and hypnotherapy. I also would like to have advice from various field like allopathy, ayurveda, unani etc. Etc. I am unable to perform at my work place due to the above mentioned issues. I am jobless due to these issues. My immediate issue is lack of self confidence which is affecting me a lot. Thanks

This tendency is based on unnatural fear and has now led to OCD. There must have been some childhood experience around fear that has not been resolved and it is coming up now in this form. You must meet with a counselor along with your parents and find out where this fear originated and what the occasion was. If the obsession is about hygiene and perhaps infection that stimulates this kind of reaction. You will need to get a reality check with a medical person to dispel these fears and accept that your immune system is able to fight minor infections rather efficiently. Of course, you must be able to trust that source and accept it as a fact: this may take time but is a very important exercise in your therapy. You may also learn that certain amount of hygiene is essential but not extreme and any excessive forms are to be considered. They will finally cripple you when it reaches chronic states of OCD. If it has already reached difficult proportions, you may need to go on medication and the counselor will advise you so. You may try other medications but I am uncertain of their efficacy to combat this condition. The therapy involves long-term treatment. Hypnotherapy could help too. The behavior will become based on magical thinking and certain rituals will become necessary to do normal things making you believe that either the frequency or the ritual is important to its success. This of course, is a fallacy but there will come a time that even if told the truth, your belief will defy any logic and you will continue behaving like that even if it cripples you in your daily routines. It only appears as though some other force is behind these behaviors and that you are compelled to act in this fashion. That is obviously not true but no one can convince you of anything different. The obsession is a repeating thought pattern with no meaningful outcome; and the compulsiveness is the need to act on those obsessions also in a repeated behavior pattern as though you just cannot help yourself, like the plucking off of your hair. There are certain behavioral techniques to be implemented and if they work you may get out of this condition rather easily. If that does not work as desired, then some allopathic medication has to be introduced, and in combination with counseling much work can be achieved.
