Does Statin group of cholesterol medicines have any effect on liver? I have high cholesterol of 255 mg (total) and also liver raised liver enzymes. Shall I look for cholesterol lowering medicines other than statins?

Statins are metabolized in liver. It can lead to increase in liver enzymes. You have not mentioned your Liver enzyme levels and neither the cause of their increase. But statins is a very good medicine. In mild cases a dose adjustment can be made. It will be best if your cardiologist takes a decision about the dose.
