I am 60 years old male. My weight now is 65 kgs and my height is 5'5. I was using thyroxine 75 mcg and stopped taking medication 2 years back. Recently I had been for t3, t4, and tsh test. The results are as follows. T3 is 19, t4 is <0.3 and tsh is >150. Please some one suggest me what to do. I don't have any complaints like sugar or b.p. Shall I go for further any test or this is enough. Some body suggested me to take thyronorm 150 mcg. I am not in a position to come out due to lighten restrictions as I am residing in a red zone area. Please advice me what to do.

Mr Anil Kumar, Thanks for the query. With such high TSH and very low T4 you have absolutely uncontrolled Hypothyroidism.. This needs urgent treatment with adequate dosage of Levothyroxine . You may start with same dose as earlier then check TSH after 6 weeks to see if it has come down to expected level. If not then dosage needs to be increased. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines, no drugs can be prescribed. If you have any specific query or want a clear prescription then please come in a private conversation then I will be able to give a specific prescription. Thanks.

Respected sir, you have to understand that hypothyroidism is a hormone deficiency disorder & the treatment is replacement of the deficient hormone. There can be no allopathy, homeopathy or whatsoever in the treatment, it is only replacing titrated dose of the hormone in your body. Take a specific dose of the replacement in empty stomach as advised by your endocrinologist. Donot consume food, beverage or any other medication within 40 minutes of taking the supplement. Review with a s.tsh & a free t4 after 6 weeks & review.
