Hello ma'am I am 40 years old and suffering from hyperthyroidism about 8 years. I take thyronorm 150 mcg because my Dr. Suggest me that dose given according to weight, my weight is 85 kg. And height 5'7.one of my friend suggest to take reckbage r 51 drop for cure thyroid. I want to Dr. That is any side effect to take r 51 or it's dangerous to take this medicine without any consultation.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given in the query. Please understand if you are taking Thyronorm 150 mcg (Levothyroxine 150 mcg) then you have hypothyroidism. That is your thyroid gland is under functioning. Hyperthyroidism is a condition where thyroid gland is excessively active, produces more of Thyroxine ( T4). In that condition anti-thyroid drug like Carbimazole is given. The product your friend has suggested is for Thyrotoxicosis, where there is excessive thyroid activity, plus eyes pop out. I don't understand why should be taking the advice of a friend who dos not know the difference between hypo and hyper thyroidism.. So please stick to Levothyroxine 150 mcg and see that your TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L at which all the symptoms of that condition are in check.
