18 year old female with iron deficiency anaemia last 2 consecutive years = high esr, high crp, mild fever last 1 year = very mild increase in uric acid, consecutive wrist and ankle pain which radiates and is worse during night and after waking up. Becomes intolerable sometimes. Taking nsaids helped for 1 month and decreased esr and crp both with no wrist pain and rare ankle pain but after leaving medicine for 20 days esr and crp increased again and a little pain started again. Could this be rheumatoid arthritis?

Hello lybrate-user yes, it might be rheumatoid arthritis because it can be control by medicine but can’t be cure. See, the increased level of esr and crp will depict the level of infection in your body which so by taking nsaids i.e.anti-inflammatory medicine will minimise the infection. But, it can also be control of diet management. If you include some foods having anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and phytochemical property in your food than also the esr and crp rate will decrease or maintain. If you want any diet consultation for the same, kindly contact me on Lybrate hope this is helpful to you.
