I have hyperthyroidism. Can I take albendazole, Without gaining more excessive weight. Because I have gained much weight last year after eating this tablet.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Weight gain is the result of hypothyroidism that too when it is not properly controlled. Ideally TSH should be maintained < 3 mU/L, to be free from all the symptoms of that condition. If not then weight gain is one of the main signs. Albendazole is taken as just one dose. It has absolutely no effect on weight. Thanks.
